My thoughts after watching “The Great Indian Kitchen”

My inspiration behind creating this video is the latest Malayalam movie - The Great Indian Kitchen. This is not a movie review, but my thoughts and opinions based on my life experiences, after watching it.

It is a good movie, which is more relatable to old generation mothers/women, because they have suffered a lot in kitchens in olden days. Now men are more understanding and they help women in kitchens. In case, if any are exceptional, this movie will really help them to think different.

In my mom’s case, she got married in her early age and came to a big join family. We can assume the intensity of their household chores at that time period. But, she has never complained about it. When I asked her the reason, she told me, “why should I complain to work for my kids and husband?”. That really touched my heart and I could realize the reason, why we ladies are always complaining about household chores always.

Now we have lost our broad minded nature like my mom or all old generation moms, I guess. And of course, ladies are working and earning in latest era, she cannot handle everything herself, so men have to definitely help them in kitchen. In olden days, ladies worked together in kitchen, now all we are in nuclear families. So husband and wife have to help each other.

I know, that this movie cannot bring a change immediately, but it will happen gradually. Let’s wait for great Indian kitchens with men’s presence in it :)
