Chickenpox During Pregnancy. My Experience!

Friends…today I’m back with another real-life experience which I cannot forget in my life. Hope you all would have heard about the complications of acquiring chickenpox during pregnancy. Actually, I got chickenpox in my early months of pregnancy. Doctors and all others advised me to terminate it in order to avoid any complications happen to the child. Doctors said that there are chances of physical or mental disabilities to the baby.

I was convinced with these points and finally, I got ready to move forward with the doctor’s decision. But my husband reverted me from it. It was his view that even if the baby is normal or not, it is our baby and it is our responsibility to raise it. I was so happy hearing it and I thought “why should I be worried if he is with him with full support.” And we decided to proceed it without terminating.

Rest of the days were full of prayers. Even then my husband was asking me, why are you so selfish to pray to get a normal child when a lot of other parents around us are raising their physically or mentally retarded kids. It made me rethink, and I wished only for the good things to happen. But I was brave enough to face anything which happens in my life.

I was shown normally in my 5th month of scanning and we were so happy. But doctors were not 100 per cent sure about it. Again in my 8th-month scanning, I was shown with less fluid and immediately they decided for a cesarean on the very next day. Finally, I was blessed with a normal baby girl. All of us were too happy and relieved.

I believe in medical science and I know that doctors said the facts from their previous case histories. But in my case, it was a miracle and I believe that it is by God’s grace.

It is my humble request to all, not to do abortions for silly reasons. We may not get a child when really long for it. And kids with any disabilities are not born with their fault and it is not our ability that we are born normal.
